Friday 22nd November will mark the launch the 1st annual ‘Heart Of Peninsula Care Awards’. This night is all about recognising the continued hard work and commitment shown each and every day by our dedicated staff at Peninsula Care.

We aim to celebrate the achievements of all of our employees, but specifically reward those who have adhered to Peninsula Care’s ethos of standing out from the rest, and going the extra mile. Hosted by UTV‚Äôs Julian Simmons, with entertainment from Britain‚Äôs Got Talent finalist Jordan O‚ÄôKeefe, the awards night promises to be a great night out for all involved with Peninsula. We would like to offer you the chance to join us. All finalist for awards will receive 2 free tickets, but tickets can also be purchased for ¬£10 each by calling the office.

A word from the Director:

“Peninsula Care Services wouldn’t be the leading domiciliary care and nursing recruitment company in Northern Ireland if it wasn’t for my 140 strong staff, many of whom have worked with me since the conception of the company six years ago.

My staff go beyond their own call of duty and I want to acknowledge and reward these ordinary people who make extraordinary differences to our clients’ lives, by treating them to an intimate, yet glitzy awards ceremony. We’re also delighted to recognise others in the industry who show the same passion and ethos, as caring is everything to us. I have worked in this industry for over 12 years and have yet to identify organisations that host their own awards ceremony to reward people working in domiciliary and healthcare, so I felt a strong need to create one which will simultaneously help heighten the profile of this industry on a whole.”

However, our awards ensure that not all the glory goes to our employees. We can’t forget about our clients. Our valued clients are responsible for the growth and success of Peninsula Care, and we feel they should be recognised for their support to Peninsula, and to our staff. Thus, we will be asking in our clients care settings to nominate for their ‘Care Home Manager of the year’ award.

Award Categories

Care Home Manager of The Year

In the background of every great care facility there is a great leader. The Manager should possess a passion to manage a service where care is of the highest standard and lead a team of staff by example. Those that lead a team require the qualities to manage people effectively. They need to show an understanding for their team and show commitment to their staff and service users in their care. Managers can be nominated by their staff, Peninsula Care staff on placement or by relatives.

Peninsula’s Unsung Hero

Every organisation needs an unsung hero to help them survive. This is an award to recognise that special someone at Peninsula Care who makes a substantive, yet unrecognised contribution to the industry.

An unsung hero in the industry is often an ordinary person with an extraordinary talent to deliver a high standard of care to service users, and looks for no recognition in return.

Giraffe of the Year

Each quarter Peninsula Care gives recognition to three members of the team who have went head and shoulders above others when carrying out their role. This is often someone who shows compassion to service users and makes time for everyone they care for, or it may be someone who has made a considerable difference to a care facility by being placed there. Each quarter a Nurse, Health Care Assistant and Community Care Worker is selected and awarded a Giraffe Award of a gift card and engraved fob watch. A heart of Peninsula Care Award will be given to someone of each staff grade who has been awarded this accolade this year, and have maintained the standards for which they initially picked up an award for.

Newcomer of the Year

This award this will recognise the efforts of a newcomer to our team. At Peninsula Care we are focused on growing our team. This enables us to embrace other workers and provide them the opportunity to have a Peninsula experience, and enables newcomers to embark on a journey of their own, like each of us at Peninsula Care. The office team will be nominating members of their team who have commenced work within the past 6-12 months. To qualify the candidate should have also worked a minimum of 12 hours per week since commencement of their service.

When nominating for this category please give details in no more than 500 words as to why they deserve recognition for the job they do.

Client Choice Award

Our organisation relies on our clients and service users to give feedback on their Peninsula experience. This category gives those who use our service to nominate someone on our team that has made a positive difference to them, or their care facility. Service users living in the community, home owners and managers of care facilities should become involved and let us know who has “stood out like a Peninsula does” in going about their day to day role.

Outstanding Achievement Award

This category is specifically aimed at our office staff. At Peninsula Care it is not only our staff out in the field who are caring. Our office staff work hard every day they are on duty, dealing with staff and client queries, allocating shifts, carefully recruiting new team members and ensuring the aims and objectives of the organisation are being met. Our office team can be nominated by clients, staff, service users in the community, or themselves.
