Flu

It is advisable that all Healthcare Workers are vaccinated against catching the Flu Virus. Outbreaks of influenza can arise in care settings. Some of you may have experienced such outbreaks over the past few winters. These outbreaks can cause significant illness to clients and disruption in the provision of care. We strongly encourage all health and social care staff to protect themselves, their families and patients by availing of the 2017 flu vaccine and practising good infection control in health care settings.

Our local healthcare trust have been holding flu clinics last month so we realise that some may already have received the vaccine.

For those that haven’t Peninsula Care have teamed up with Comber Pharmacy to be able to offer the vaccine to our team. There will be a small charge of £10 per person for the vaccine which for staff can be paid via wage deduction.
