Here at Peninsula Care Services we have got some exciting training courses for Health Care Assistants at our Training Academy in our Newtownards Head Office in County Down. Our courses will be run by our very own Principle Trainer Helen Woodside. We have courses for Safeguarding Vulnerable Adults at Risk (SOVA), Infection Control and Food Hygiene all of which are mandatory.

SOVA – This course is designed for everyone working to deliver high quality care, providing information on the types of abuse, signs & symptoms, how to support someone who has been the victim of abuse & employees reporting responsibilities.

Infection Control – The course provides information on types of infection, methods of transmission, the chain of infection & breaking it, standard precautions, isolation precautions & barrier nursing & practical ways of working.

Food Hygiene – We look at Microbiological Hazards, Contamination hazards and pests, their routes and vehicles of contamination, Cross-contamination and its control. We also look at HACCP and Temperature Control. We discuss Hazard Analysis and Critical Control Points/a risk analysis food safety management system.

We have the sessions arranged for Wednesday 4th November 2015.

The times of the courses are:

SOVA – 0930-1230

Infection Control – 1315-1500

Food Hygiene – 1500-1700
