Peninsula Care as we enter 2017 are ecstatic to announce that we have been shortlisted in the 2017 Randox Health Awards. These prestigious awards recognise healthcare providers for the every day work they do. We are proud to reveal that our organisation have been shortlisted for 3 awards; Clinical Excellence, Training and also a Special Recognition Award for our Director Jonny Cook.

Clinical Excellence

Recognising the work our Community Care team have done and the success and achievement they have had with enabling a service user to be more mobile following discharge from a long hospital admission and the partnership with Optimise which enables our Care at Home team to refer service users for free eye testing at home.

Doreen our Registered Manager commented “to be shortlisted in this category is a major achievement for our team, it shows recognition for our team doing their best each day for the people we not only care for but care about. A win in this category will be a nice boost for the team as we enter a New Year”.

Training

This award is awarded to those for the efforts they make in training and development of staff.  We entered this category following the 2016 development of our Training Academy and in house staff development to enable us to offer more courses and flexibility for our own staff and clients to ensure mandatory training is maintained.

“As Principle Trainer for the Training Academy I am overwhelmed that we have shortlisted in this category. I like to ensure that our courses are written to they are informative but also fun, I have first hand experience in attending dull courses year in and year out which is why we like to keep things fresh in our Academy. We have already undertaken our planning for this year and I am looking forward to the new course additions we hope to offer in 2017. An award would be the icing on the cake for our Training Academy”. Helen Riorden, Principle Trainer

Special Recognition Award – Jonny Cook

An award designed to recognise someone within the industry who has made a difference to the industry, their staff and their service users.

Jonny states “Wow I am shocked to be shortlisted. I set up Peninsula Care in 2009 to be different and to stand out like a Peninsula does. I come to work each day and try my best for our staff and the people whom use our service as that is my job, I have a genuine passion to make sure everyone received the best possible Peninsula Care experience as they come along on our journey. I am forever grateful for my nomination and it is an honour to be shortlisted in such prestigious awards like these.”.

We are all looking forward to the black tie event being held on 12th January in the opulent surroundings of the Stormont Hotel, Belfast.

We will be hosted by BBC’s Noel Thompson and entertained following the ceremony by ABBA Tribute Bjorn Identity.
