Last night (12.01.2017) saw the 2017 Healthcare Awards sponsored by Randox at the Stormont Hotel, Belfast. Peninsula Care were listed in three categories which were, Training, Clinical Excellence and our Director Jonny Cook was shortlisted for a Special Recognition Award.
On a freezing cold night the mood was warm as we entered the Stormont Hotel as we were welcomed by hosts to a drinks reception. Once we took our seats and welcomed by compare BBC’s Noel Thompson we thoroughly enjoyed a gorgeous meal before official proceedings got underway.
We were privileged to be able to collect a Highly Commended Award for Training. This is true recognition to the hard work Helen our Principle Trainer has been putting in over the past year to ensure our courses are fun, engaging as well as informative. If you are reading this and have not experienced one of our courses, you don’t know what you are missing. For healthcare staff we are always attending refresher and update training which can be a chore, but not with Peninsula Care, we stand out like a Peninsula does and our trainers are always updating their own training and development which leads to changes to our sessions making them current and interesting as “that’s the name of the game”.
As the ceremony went on Noel introduced the Special Recognition Award which is awarded to someone for the efforts and difference they have made to the industry and those which need to avail of Health & Social Care services. Jonny states ” I was totally shocked to hear my name called out, I had it in my head there was no chance I would win this category, in fact I was actually distracting myself at the time with my phone and heard my name being called out. I am so thrilled to receive this award, it can be challenging being a young Director but I have a great core team working alongside me day in day out and great support from my friends and family. “
Once we good draw a breath again from all the excitement of the ceremony we were then able to celebrate with Bjorn Identity belting out “The Winner Takes it All” and other ABBA hits.
Jonny also commented “Never before did I think I would be able to say I am the owner of a Multi Award Winning Company, I am so proud of all my team. “
