Alberto is a young, enthusiastic, Spanish Nurse. At 24 he finished his Nursing Degree almost 4 years ago after studying in Madrid. Opportunities were limited in Spain, so after completing additional qualifications, and gaining what Nursing experience he could, Alberto decided to move abroad to gain additional experience.

Joining Peninsula in April 2014 Alberto has worked steadily as a Nurse picking up shifts in a range of Care settings. His popularity with clients has seen him offered block bookings with clients so he is never short of work. Always willing to help out with other Peninsula activity such as video shoots for our website, Alberto has endeared himself to the office staff as well as clients.

Alberto always knew he wanted to get into healthcare and stated, “As a little boy I used to say to my grandmother, ‘When I grow up I will be a doctor and take care of you’. I ended up as a Nurse, responsible for taking care of not only my own family but other peoples too.” “I am always trying to update my knowledge in healthcare to improve the quality of the care I provide. That is one of the main reasons I came to Northern Ireland. I am originally from Spain but my personal quest of a challenge brought me here.

Improving my English while I work for Peninsula as a Nurse is one of the best things that has ever happened to me.” Alberto’s passion is clear for everyone to see. He throws all of himself into his work and has a genuine sense of care for those he is responsible for. Working mainly nights gives Alberto the chance to explore Northern Ireland and agency works great for him so he can work as and when he wants.

Alberto moved here with his girlfriend Elena. Elena worked within childcare in Spain and has managed to secure herself employment here in a day nursery, whilst also registering with Peninsula to work with our clients who specialise in care of children. Both Alberto and Elena have grown in confidence during their time in Northern Ireland.

As young professionals in a foreign country, Alberto and Elena love to get out and about so don’t want to be tied down to set shifts. Peninsula gives them this opportunity of a healthy work/life balance. Alberto is always looking at ways to progress his career. The experience he has gained with Peninsula has opened many doors for him, and he is currently considering going back to university to study medicine.
